Adult attachment and Mindfulness: Examining directionality, causality, and theoretical implications

We present two studies that together provide preliminary evidence to challenge the view relationship between adult attachment and mindfulness is bi-directional (Study 1: repeated measures design Study 2: a study examining efficacy of security priming induction). Adult anxiety emerged as significant predictor some facets mindfulness, over time, but reverse was not true. Priming increased state mind greater degree than induction or control. These findings previous research suggesting bi-directional, orientation plays causal role in development mindfulness.
